Venturing far north into the mountains allowed for me to engage with people and cultures that have remained mostly sheltered from modern ways of life that I have become accustomed to. That is not to say they are struggling, and that is not to say that they don't have forms of technology. However, it does mean that they are different. A refreshing reminder of what simplicity can provide.
